Is it not the right time yet ????

The country in which I was born and brought up, is the mother of so many religions and a variety of cultures. To be very honest, I also follow one somewhat :)

Some days back I came to a country where people were technically more forward, happier and richer. People seemed to be so united and similar to each other!
I was so pleased with their behavior and their timeliness and their discipline ...
First time in my life, I saw people going for lunch and dinner at the same time and even brushing teeth at the same time ! I was so possessed by such a culture and I started digging into the roots of it :)

Although I was busy with my tight schedule , I started roaming around the city on weekends and started talking to some of the people at office. Everywhere I went, I felt so much similarity which I could never find in my birth place ( not even 2 km radius ) :D
Suddenly one day I found out that most of the people here dont follow any religion ! ( I dont remember, how I found out for the heck of it ). First time in my life, after hearing terms like baniya, jaat , punjaabi , marwari , north indian, chinki , south indian , bengali .... I heard something different and interesting "NO RELIGION" !

I began to think is that the reason of their happiness and unity ? Although I believe five fingers are never equal and I'm never stronglu opinionated :)
But on second thoughts, aren't we used to loathing each other on the basis of caste and creed ? Aren't we imbibed to abhor in the name of religion !
Aren't we so used to discrimination on the basis of gender, that even the discriminated ones feel that its alright to be suppressed ! :D

Aren't we the ones who dont even have the right to take most important decisions of our lives ?
Isn't it correct that most of us dont even have the right to choose their spouse in the name of so called society ?
Isn't it true that we are so deeply involved in altercations and clashes all the time that we dont have time left to work on development of our country !

Aren't we the ones who are looked at as SLAVES all over the world ?

Isn't it the time to leave personal/communal differences behind and start working for a better future ?

Isn't it the time to teach our men to respect the integrity of a women regardless of her religion, region and clothes ?

Isn't it the time to stop corruption and reservation ?

Isn't it the right time to start the chapter of true equality ?

Isn't it the time to wake up before its too late ?

Lets start taking decisions and act on it .....

  1. Well said Megha, Its time to think and act together on Important Issues than to just sit back and count on these tiny differences which divide each of us .
